Treyarch announced the release date for the Annihilation map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Playstation 3 and PC. The package will release on July 28, and although no price was given, it’s safe to assume that it will cost $15, given that the other map packs have cost the same amount. Annihilation has been available for the Xbox 360 since June 28, meaning that 360 owners have the advantage of a solid month over their PS3 brethren.
The pack includes four multiplayer maps and a new Zombies map. The competitive maps are: Drive-In, Hangar 18 (solid Megadeath reference, Treyarch), Silo, and Hazard. The new Zombies map is called Shangri-La and has a jungle theme, complete with spike traps and adorable monkeys.
If you need more Call of Duty in your life, and you absolutely can’t wait for Modern Warfare 3, and you don’t have a 360, it would probably be in the best interest of you and the safety of those around you to pick this up when it plops on the 28. If not…I guess Skyrim’s pretty close to being released, eh?
