Steam has officially announced the first ten games to be released through their recently founded Steam Greenlight Project, which allows developers to post info on their games and let the community decide if they wish to see it on Steam. The games are as follows:
- Black Mesa
- Cry of Fear
- Dream
- Heroes and Genarals
- Kenshi
- McPixel
- No More Room in Hell
- Project Zomboid
- Routine
- Towns
Personally, I love the idea of Greenlight. Although I am not keen on them restricting who can vote through creating, essentially, a vote fee , the money is going to a good cause and hopefully will lead to more developers being able to let their projects see the light of day. I would have never heard of games such as Dream, or Routine, which has become one of my highly anticipated titles for next year. So what are your thoughts on Greenlight? Is it a shameless cash grab by Steam or a great tool for developers? Sound off in the comments below.
